Timeline for Career Planning

Grade 10

Ø     Review previous plans.  Continue activities begun in your 9^th grade year in your 10^th grade career exploration class.

Ø     Explore career and education options using computerized information systems located in the Career Center.

Ø     Take a work values inventory to learn more about yourself and make appropriate career decisions.

Ø     Discuss career and course planning with your counselor.

Ø     Review requirements for certain career/colleges/specialized schools or the military.

Ø     Visit your school career center.

Ø     Become involved in school and community organizations.

Ø     Discuss job information with people who are already in a field that is of interest to you.

Ø     Talk with college students who are currently taking courses in a field that is of interest to you.

Ø     Begin the process of filling our your career plan in your Career Exploration Class.

Ø     Take an interest inventory to learn more about yourself and make appropriate career decisions.
