Technology Department Course Descriptions Computers I (Grade 9) 8180 The
course will review the skills needed for operating a computer system
competently. Each student will have available a desktop computer workstation
that is linked to the campus network, the Internet and shared printers.
Using Microsoft Office, the student will explore the functions of word
processing and spreadsheet software. Efficient
keyboarding technique and information literacy skills for
retrieving and analyzing information will
be covered. This course uses web-based assessment tools for customized student
learning and feedback of competency. Computers II (Grade 10) 8281, 8285, 8287 The
course will focus on applying technology tools for research, problem solving,
and communication, using multimedia presentations and desktop-published reports.
Students will develop
intermediate level skills using software applications including
word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics presentation as well as explore the
fundamentals of data base management.
Students
evaluate, integrate, and process information from a variety of electronic
sources.
This course uses web-based assessment tools for customized student learning and
feedback of competency.
