The Plant Science curriculum at Essex Aggie gives your student the training they need to take advantage of employment opportunities within the Green Industry. Students enrolled in the Plant Science courses are exposed to education in the fields of Greenhouse Management/Floriculture, Landscape and Turf Management, and Arboriculture.
During the first semester of their freshman year, all freshmen students participate in the Exploratory program, which is designed to give students a basic understanding of all of the programs offered at the Aggie. Exploratory classes are a small glimpse into the concentration areas within Animal Science, Environmental Science, and Plant Science. During the second semester students are freshmen choosing Plant Science as their desired field of study and take a more in depth look at the subject matter within the concentration areas.
Students enrolled in Plant Science are given a choice of three major course concentrations near the completion of the freshman year, they are: Arboriculture, Greenhouse Management/Floriculture, and Landscape and Turf Management.
