FFA
The FFA is a National Organization of students
enrolled in agricultural education.
FFA makes a positive difference in the lives
of students by developing their potential for leadership, personal growth, and
career success. This organization prepares students for career development in many areas
related to our course offerings and other areas of personal leadership.
The annual FFA state convention will be held in the spring
of each year. The 3 day event
enables chapter FFA
members to participate in contests, attend leadership workshops, attend motivational
sessions.
State winners go on to represent the school at the National FFA
Convention held in late fall. Over 30,000 FFA members nationwide attend.
Mr. Bell and Ms. Plante
are club advisors.
At Essex, the FFA organization also runs most of the
social events throughout the year such as dances, roller skating, pizza nights,
ski trips and others. All FFA meetings are held in Room 206 of the Science

Student Newspaper-The Ram Page
Students compile a latest news on campus using computerized desktop publishing
software and you can find the latest edition on this website. The newspaper is
named after the school's mascot, the Ram. Ms. Murphy, the librarian, is
advisor.
Outing Club 
This outdoor activities club meets bi-weekly
to plan activities such as camping, hiking, canoeing, skiing, and snowshoeing.
Each activity is different and everything is fun. All ages and ability levels
are welcome. Ecology and environmental issues are integral parts of this club's
agenda. Mr. Saulnier is club advisor.
Drama Club Open to all students the Drama Club's focus is to promote the creative and artistic.
In March 2005, the club presented a theatrical production in the school
gymnasium.
Art Club
Art Club members meet after school to work on
projects in various media. The club often exhibits their work at the school
library. Mr. Feeney is advisor.
Camera Club
Students gain hands-on experience using traditional 35mm
cameras as well as the new digital photography techniques. Mr. Collins is club
advisor.
Yearbook
This after school activity is offered to any
student interested in being on the yearbook staff. At weekly meetings, students
actively participate in the planning, designing, and decision-making involved in
editing a yearbook. Up-to-date computer technology, including digital
photography, is used in the layout of the book. Ms. Verrington and Ms. Grima iare
co-advisors.
