ACADEMICS

The academic course curriculum includes:

bullet two years  of American Literature and World Literature
bullet two years of American History and World History
bullet four years of mathematics including varying levels of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and business mathematics
bullet two years of biology
bullet two years of chemistry, physics, and environmental issues

In each area, curriculum is based on the recommendations of the Massachusetts frameworks incorporating the requisite strands, and utilizing MCAS standards for the evaluation of writing and other work.

Every effort is made to instruct students at their appropriate level of competency, taking into account learning styles, and specific needs.

Beginning in the sophomore year, an honors level program of instruction (signified by a 3 in the last digit of the course number) is offered to students meeting and maintaining an 85 average in each course. Literature courses are taught in a chronological order that matches the sequence of the history courses.
