The Plant Science department offers a wide variety of courses within its curriculum. All students enrolled in a Plant Science field of study are eligible to obtain certificates of competency in their selected majors.
During the first semester of their freshman year, all freshman students participate in Exploratory, which is designed to give students a basic understanding of the all of the programs offered at the Aggie with a focus on the various career opportunities associated with each program. Freshmen choosing Plant Science as their desired field of study take the following courses during the second semester: Introduction to Greenhouse and Garden Center Management; Introduction to Natural Resources and Parks Management; Introduction to Landscaping and Arboriculture; and OSHA Occupational Safety for Plant Science.
At the end of their freshman year, Plant Science students apply for one of three concentrations: Greenhouse and Garden Center Managment, Landscaping and Arboriculture, or Natural Resources and Parks Management.
