2008-2009 SCHOOL CALENDAR
The days listed below are the starting and ending dates for the school year, holidays, and school vacations. Also included are the Professional Development days for teachers on which there is an early release for students (see below). Students are expected to attend on scheduled school days and follow the outlined attendance requirements. Any day cancelled for snow will be made up.

Aug. 39-Sept. 1 – Extended Labor Day Weekend
September 2 – All Students Return
September 11 – Meet the Teacher Night 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
October 1 – Progress Reports for First Quarter
October 13 – Columbus Day - No School
October 25 – Open House for Prospective Students 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
October 30 – Early Dismissal (students dismissed at 11:08 a.m.)
November 4 – End of First Quarter
November 11 – Veteran’s Day Holiday
November 20 – Parent/Teachers’ Meeting – 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
November 26-28 – Thanksgiving Holiday Recess
December 10 – Progress Reports for Second Quarter
December 24-January 4 – Winter Vacation
January 19 – Martin Luther King Holiday
January 23 – End of Second Quarter
January 30 – Early Dismissal (students dismissed at 11:08 a.m.)
February 5– Parent/Teachers’ Meeting – 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
February 16-20– February Vacation
March 3 – Progress Reports for Third Quarter
March 18 - Early Dismissal (students dismissed at 11:08 a.m.)
April 10 – Good Friday holiday
April 20-24 – Spring Vacation
May 6 - Early Dismissal (students dismissed at 11:08 a.m.)
May 13 - Progress Reports for Fourth Quarter
May 25 – Memorial Day Holiday
May 30 – 8th Grade Placement Testing
June 16 – End of Fourth Quarter (no snow days)
June 20 – Final Day (w/five snow days)
