ATHLETICS
Essex Aggie offers plenty of opportunities for sports enthusiasts of all types, from the athlete to the fan in the stands. From September through May, students have an opportunity to participate in a variety of seasonal sports on either a intramural or interscholastic competitive level.
Our school officially supports MIAA sponsored interscholastic athletic teams. We share athletic teams with North Shore Regional Technical High School in Middleton.
BASEBALL – Run in conjunction with North Shore Tech, the baseball season runs from March through June.
BASKETBALL – If you’re all about net, check out the Aggie basketball program, which is offered during the winter season (December 1 - February vacation). Separate programs for boys and girls.
CHEERLEADING – During the fall soccer and football season, Aggie cheerleaders join forces with our sister team at North Shore Regional Technical High School. During the winter basketball season, Aggie cheerleaders take the floor on their own to keep the team and the fans pumped up.
CROSS-COUNTRY – Test your legs and your endurance in this invigorating outdoor sport. Cross country is offered from September through November 1. The school fields two separate teams – boys' and girls' – for this program.
FOOTBALL – After many years without a football team, the Aggie has joined forces with North Shore Regional Vocational School in Middleton to run a full fall schedule of games with area schools.
GIRLS' SOFTBALL – Our girls' team has captured a number of conference championship titles in the past few years, and has competed very successfully in the MIAA state tournament. This spring sport is run in conjunction with North Shore Tech.
ICE HOCKEY – Boys’ and girls’ ice hockey is offered during the winter season (December 1 - February vacation).
LACROSSE –This sport’s fast-growing popularity has hit the Aggie! The girls’ lacrosse program started in the Spring of 2008. The boys’ program will begin in the Spring of 2009. As with several of our sports, this is the cooperative effort of the Aggie and North Shore Tech.
SOCCER – From the beginning of September through November 1st, Aggie offers both a boys' and a girls' soccer seam, run in conjunction with North Shore Tech.
VOLLEYBALL – Run in conjunction with North Shore Tech, this fall sport is a point of pride for Essex Aggie. Our girls' team has captured numerous titles, and continues to build a following of fans and dedicated new teammates.
