September - November 2009

Welcome to the Essex Aggie Student of the Quarter page. Every 3 months, we honor four outstanding students. The selection criteria includes: achievement in academic and agricultural classes, attendance, conduct,effort, and school spirit. Congratulations to the students and their families!



Student1NameMadison Overholt - Madison is a freshman at Essex Aggie. She is a resident of Haverhill and attended the John G. Whittier Middle School.

She hopes to major in animal science with a concentration in Vet Technology and Research Animal Management.

Madison is currently involved in the Equestrian Club and plans to pay lacrosse this spring. She is an animal lover having a Weimaraner named Boston, two cats - Fluffy and Smokey, a guinea pig named Sophie G, and a goldfish. She would love to visit Portugal some day as her mother was born there.


Student2NameHeather Hume- Heather is a sophomore at Essex Aggie. She is a resident of Georgetown.

Heather is an animal sceince major who is planning to concentrate in Veterinary Technology and Research Animal Management in her junior year. She plans on pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.

Heather loves to play volleyball, read (her favorite book - The Lovely Bones, and watch movies among her favorites is The Notebook. She currently works on the farmcrew and can be found on weekends and vacations caring for many of the animals on our campus. She has an older sister attending the University of New England. She also is an animal lover having three rabbits, a guinea pig, and a hamster at home.

 

Student3NameTina Leach - Tina is a junior in the Greenhouse Production/Floriculture major with thoughts of opening her own floral business after attending college. She is a resident of Lynn whose younger brother, Billy, also attends the Aggie.

Tina is very involved at school. She serves as the Junior CLass Secretary, a Peer Leader, a former Drama CLub member, an Art Club enthusiast, and a Tour Group Leader for admissions.

Tina likes playing volleyball. She plans on beginning the college search this summer.

 

Student4NameMarissa Lanouette - Marissa is a senior in the Vet Tech/Research Animal Management program. She is a resident of Groveland.

Marissa is planning to attend college with the goal of becoming a veterinarian. She has applied to Becker College, UNH, University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and Tufts University.

Marissa enjoys gardening in the summer where she grows a large variety of herbs, and she is a big fan of Anime. also an animal lover, Marissa has three cats - Lily, Iris, and TC, as well as a Border Collie mix named Tasha.
