Students of the Quarter

April - June, 2008

Welcome to the Essex Aggie Student of the Quarter page. Every 3 months, we honor four outstanding students. The selection criteria includes: achievement in academic and agricultural classes, attendance, conduct,effort, and school spirit. Congratulations to the students and their families!



Student1NameKimberly Martinsen - Kimberly is a freshman at Essex Aggie. She is a resident of Salem. She was awarded high honors three times this year and has been a candidate for student of the quarter twice.

Kimberly is planning on studying animal science next year and hopes to eventually major in Veterinary Technology and Equine Science.

When Kimberly is not in school she enjoys camping, hiking, and working with animals. She plans to spend part of this summer camping with her family in Maine and New Hampshire.


Student2NameKatryna Smith- Katryna is a sophomore at Essex Aggie. She is former resident of Swampscott who now lives in Salem. She has earned high honors three times this year and has been a candidate for student of the quarter three times. This is the second time she has earned student of the quarter hwile at the Aggie.

Katryna is an animal sceince major who is planning to concentrate in Veterinary Technology and Research Animal Care in her junior year.

Katryna is a three sport athlete at the Aggie playing: volleyball, basketball, and softball. She has been a varsity basketball and softball player for two years

 

Student3NameSarah Young - Sarah is a junior majoring in Environmental Science. She is a resident of neighboring Boxford. She has earned high honors three times this year and was nominated as student of the quarter in the first quarter. This is the first time she has been a recipient of this award.

Sarah is involved with Students for Environmental Action.

Sarah enjoys writing, reading, and outdoor activities. She plans on beginning the college search this summer.

 

Student4NameJoe Buzun - Joe is a graduating senior in the Environmental Science program. He is a resident of Saugus. This is Joe's third time receiving the student of the quarter award while at the Aggie.

Joe is involved with Students for Environmental Action, Outdoor Leadership Club, and the Ultimate Frisbee team. He has been the first place winner in the school's science fair for two years running.

Joe is the #1 student in the senior class and will deliver the valedictorian address to the graduates. This fall, Joe will be attending Merrimack College in Andover, MA on a full scholarship. He will be studying in Merrimack's Engineering program.
